The cap may get lost, but if you look at the advertised photos of the device, then you can clearly see, or reasonably assume, that the cap is separate from the drive you knew what you were purchasing in this regard. I read some reviews complaining about the craftsmanship/build quality, but I have not experienced any issues so far. They are above average (consistently achieved 12-15 MB/s) and redeem the fourth star.
What I found noteworthy was the drive's random read speeds. The sequential write speeds were respectable. Granted, you may or may not care about random writes, but when you couple them with average sequential reads that barely break 50% of advertisements, then I think it is worth noting. It should perhaps receive three stars because it failed to achieve higher than 50 MB/s in sequential read speeds (advertised 90 Mb/s) and it has abysmal random write speeds (never breaking 0.1 MB/s on any benchmark). Overall, this is a good flash drive for the money. Patriot 16GB Boost XT USB 3.0 flash drive.
